Good Hindi Movies but surprisingly Flopped !!

Even the best directors of Hindi cinema, most of the times, fail to understand the mood of Indians. They make good movie but due to nature of story ahead of time, sentiments of people or failure on promotional front , the  movie does not work. Those movies are still recognised as good movies but they were flopped and its hard to believe by young generations. A few good movies which could not make a big impact on box office are :

1. Mera Naam Joker
2. Silsila
3. Razia Sultan
4. Raakh
5. Run
6. Shaan
7. Guide
8. Kabhi Kabhi
9. Rehna Hai Tere Dil mein
10. Teesri Kasam
11. Prem Pujari
12. Lamhe
13. Bairag
14. Sagina

Hindi Movies on Similar Lines of Hollywood Movies

Time and again Indian directors and producers are alleged to copy Hollywood scripts for desi version of their movies. Most of the times, Indian directors and producers deny about such talks. Hollywood movies are so popular in India, it is hard for Indian directors and producers , story writers to escape from such allegations. Hence now they themselves tell that their story is inspired from such and such movies. Some of the movies which have been copied from Hollywood are :

1. Bang Bang - Knight and Day
2. Dharmatma - The Godfather
3. Sarkar - The Godfather
4. Sarkar Raaj - The Godfather Part II
5. Ladies Vs. Ricky Behl - John Tucker Must die
6. Pehla Pehla Pyar - Roman Holiday
7. Daulat Ki Jang - Meckenna's God
8. Baadshah - Nick of Time
9. Superman - Superman
10. Itni bhi kya jaldi hai - Father of the Bride

Aiswariya in Cannes !!

Its perhaps a mandatory routine for Aiswariya Rai to visit France for Cannes film festival. Indian media always show her daily photographs during such festival. In India such type of festival do not take place ,so she is not seen as being photographed in new designed dresses. Its a good publicity platform for her to attract Indian directors and show them " Abhi to mai jawan hoon ". Their media also pays attention , obviously whoever walks on the red carpet will be photographed and perhaps other Hollywood heroines must have so many number of photographs but Indian media show only the photographs of Aiswariay , Sonam Kapoor, Mallika , Anupam Kher on daily basis. Indians will think that Aiswariya is being respected there and getting full media attention. But on the contrary, we do not see her photographs with any high profile hero of Hollywood these days , neither George Clooney , nor Russel Crowe , nor Gerrard Butler nor Brad Pitt and not also with Tom Cruise....yesterday her photograph was with Eva Longoria  :):):) ...She is at Cannes and Abhishek bhai was watching Mumbai Indians Vs. CSK with his father. He also went with her once, but he understands its better to be at home rather than ignored by Media in front of his wife.  Lets hope to see her more good photographs with some real celebrity of Hollywood !!

New Benchmark to declare a movie hit !!

The best benchmark to check if a movie is a hit or flop is  , how long the movie could manage to be on screen in cinema halls. We hear that Ashok Kumar's " Kismat " continued for years in Roxy of Kolkata, Dilwale Dulhaniya has broken all the records by its continuous presence in Maratha Mandir of Mumbai. We used make line to get a ticket from theatre's window. Sometimes , we all had to pay extra money to grab a ticket. Those days are gone.
Now , whether a movie is a hit is identified by the count of millions earned in the initial weeks of the opening. Now movies are not fixed assets like " Mughal E Azam ", " Sangam " , " Anand " or " Sholay " , all movies are now " Terminable Ventures ".  People could not get the statistics of the earnings of movies in yesteryears but now we get everyday figures of earning. Youngsters go to watch movies just by hearing the earnings of the movies. All figures are unaudited, unauthenticated, god knows who counted it and how these figures are reliable !! Till you reach up to truth , the movies are out of cinema halls. Directors Producers also know , they are creating something for a very short term. Neither hindi songs are durable nor their stories are remembered for a long time. Awards are given to everybody. Songs lost melody, instrumentation has replaced the melody , Lyrics lost gravity ...everything is for short term ............  All these short term things are eating the craze for cinema among people .........ultimately these things put question mark on the sustainability of the movie business. Its high time !!
